Reflection #2

Below I have taken some time to write about my experiences while taking this class

Q: Is there any advice you would give to someone who is not comfortable using AI?

First and foremost, thank you to the most amazing professor responsible of helping her students not only succeed but be prepared. Having a professor who not only cares for your work but also cares for you as a person, completely changes the atmosphere of the classroom. At the end of the day, as important as school is, Miss A makes sure to prioritize ones mental health as well. This year has been a roller coaster, I have grown and fell and picked myself up over and over. Just as much as I've grown, my relationship to AI has too. AI to this day is still intimidating to me, but I've learned to navigate it so much better than I have in the past. My relationship with AI is still fairly young as I've only been using it for a year, but I can see how much easier it is to use it now. For someone uncomfortable with AI, start by exploring user-friendly applications that demonstrate practical benefits for example one that many people use is Grammarly! It's very simple to use and helps to enhance your writing, with use of AI that is embedded in the application, the chatbot can take our writing and make it better. As well language translation or productivity tools are supper easy to use and find. Overall its about taking time to understand AI's capabilities and limitations, focusing on how it can assist rather than replace human skills. If you have a fear of privacy, prioritize platforms with strong privacy controls and start with small, low-stakes interactions to build confidence. Simple things such as asking AI for recipes. Remembering that AI is a tool designed to support and enhance human work instead of fearing it is the best way to start a good relationship.
